Over the past few years, the global vape market size has increased dramatically. There are millions of active vapers worldwide, and the entire market is valued at around $12.41 billion.
But even though vaping has grown in popularity, there are still plenty of misconceptions surrounding it. If you’re an avid vaper just or interested in giving it a try, take a look at a few interesting vaping facts you’ll be glad to know.
One of the primary misconceptions about vaping is that it’s habit-forming. If you start vaping, you’ll get hooked, and it would be challenging to quit the habit. However, this isn’t always the case. Vaping can be habit-forming, but there’s a way to go around it.
It all depends on the e-liquid.
E-liquids have only a few main ingredients – flavoring, nicotine, and the base liquid that carries the two. Nicotine is the single addictive ingredient you’ll come across.
When used routinely, nicotine can cause both physical and psychological dependence. It promotes the production of endorphins when inhaled, which makes you feel good after consuming it, so you want to do it again and again, and this is how a habit is developed.
The good news is that you can control how much nicotine you want your e-liquids to contain. And, if you want to avoid getting hooked, nicotine-free vape liquids are widely available. You can get seven different unique e liquids online and in local dispensaries. You’ll avoid forming any habit and enjoy guilt-free vape sessions.
Besides the nicotine content, there are a few more differences between e-liquids, namely their bases. E-liquid base can be from Vegetable Glycerin (VG), Propylene Glycol (PG), or their combination – which is usually the case.
VG and PG affect the vape juice differently and provide unique vaping experiences.
On the one hand, VG, a viscous, slightly sweet, but utterly odorless liquid, helps produce fuller and thicker clouds when vaping. You’ll get a smooth throat hit with lots of vapor, but not a strong taste.
On the other hand, you have PG. Colorless and odorless, this liquid serves to produce a strong throat hit and a full vape juice flavor. If you want to enjoy the sweet taste, you’ll get e-juice with a higher PG ratio. The only drawback is that your cloud production will be reduced to a minimum, and you won’t be able to perform awesome vape tricks.
Even if you’ve never used a vaping device in your life, you’re likely aware that there are numerous e-liquid flavors available. We’re all familiar with the fresh minty vape juices and flavors like apple, grapes, citrus fruits, candy, and more. Even doughnut and pretzel flavors are becoming increasingly popular.
So, it’s evident that your e-liquid can taste like a lot of different things. However, “a lot” can be an understatement.
It’s estimated that there are well over 8,000 unique e-liquid flavors available on the market.
What’s interesting about this is that you can always mix several different e-liquids to get a taste of something brand new.
Just remember to mix only e-liquids with the same PG-VG ratio – it will be easier. Since PG and VG have different viscosities, mixing them would require more effort than necessary.
Most vapers love that they can customize or DIY their way around virtually every aspect of vaping. You can make your e-liquid at home, design your coils, even create a box mod from scratch. However, just because you can do it doesn’t mean you should.
Many things could go wrong when you’re making your vaping gear and e-liquids, and you could easily hurt yourself. Not to mention that you could accidentally crease a dangerous e-juice that simply shouldn’t be inhaled!
Since there are so many affordable options in online stores and brick-and-mortar shops, it’s best to buy high-quality products and leave crafting to the professionals.
Finally, in the past few years, vaping became so popular that there are even competitive events that you can join. There are two types of competitions you can join:
In cloud contests, the idea is simple – you compete against other vapers to produce the biggest cloud possible. There are usually rules on maximum wattage and minimum resistance to ensure a fair game, and it can be amusing to join.
In trick contests, the vapers are judged based on their vaping tricks. You have a minute or two to wow the judges and the audiences with your awesome skills and take home the prize.
Local vape shops often organize competitions, so ask around to see whether there’s an interesting event that you can join in your area.
There are many things you should know before you take up vaping, and it’s always good to stay informed. So, order your lab-tested e-juice online, play around with the different flavors, get a high-quality vaping device, and start enjoying your vape sessions.
