Wrong Ways to Clean Your Vaping Device

Posted by Johnson T. on July 9, 2018

Clean you tank the proper way

All vapers know that cleaning your hardware on a consistent basis is an important task to do. Some may clean their hardware more than others, like after every heavy vape session. While many people will share how to properly clean your hardware you should also be aware of how not to clean it.

Always disassemble hardware

Although it might seem a bit obvious to the more experienced vapers, you should never attempt to clean an entire unit all at once. It must be disassembled into its individual pieces and each must be cleaned in a unique fashion. That means you don’t just drop the entire atomizer into a pan full of boiling water. Whether it is an RDA, tank, or RTA it is crucial to disassemble them properly and soak each component in water.

Avoid using household cleaning products

You must avoid using household cleaning supplies to clean your atomizer or vaping device. Using these products may compromise the product’s ability to function and it also might create toxic vapor due to the numerous harmful chemicals found in most common household cleaning supplies.

Do not soak your device in water

While most devices do need to be cleaned with water, they should not be flooded with it or rubbing alcohol. If you want to clean your mod or device simply use a damp cloth to wipe it down, never let it soak in water. Leaving an electronic vape, like regulated, mechanical, or hybrid mods, in water will ruin its internal circuitry. The only part of the device that can be safely soaked in water is the atomizer as long as it is disassembled.

Do not use metal objects

Finally, do not attempt to clean out your vaping device’s passageways with a straightened out coat hanger or any other elongated device besides a pipe cleaner or a Q-tip. Using a long and thin metal object can possibly damage the internal components of the device. Stick to using a pipe cleaner or Q-tip that is soft and will absorb all of the gunky residues that sticks to the insides of the unit.

These mistakes are good to know to avoid making them for the first time or again, as it could be your hardware’s last time working.
